Karan Johar is set to release the Hrithik Roshan starrer remake of Agneepath on January 13 next year. The film is a remake of a 1990 Hindi film of the same name which was produced by Johar's father Yash Johar and starred Amitabh Bachchan as Vijay Dinanath Chauhan. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra opposite Hrithik.
"Agneepath releases on January 13th,2012....," Johar wrote on Twitter. The movie, being directed by Karan Malhotra, is a typical Bollywood revenge drama and follows the story of a young boy whose father is killed by a don, forcing the boy to grow up and avenge the death. The movie had won many awards with Bachchan winning a National film award and filmfare for best actor.
Sanjay Dutt is playing the negative role in the movie, played by Danny Denzongpa in the original. The actor has reportedly gone bald and is trying to tone up to look buff opposite a fit Hrithik.
