Bangalore take on Mumbai for IPL final berth
Royal Challengers Bangalore came close to making it to the final of IPL-4 in their
qualifier against Chennai Super Kings but the last eight overs of the second innings, in which they conceded over a hundred runs, cost them dearly as the defending champions romped home to a win. Bangalore skipper Daniel Vettori admitted that the defeat stung but it was in the past and his team had learnt from the mistakes."Team realises what we did wrong. We did most of the things right in the match. Just that we have to improve on our death bowling," Vettori said here on the eve of their knock-out match against Mumbai Indians. He also refused to make any changes in the side, saying that team looked settled enough and should do the job.
"We will go with the same team. Chris Gayle and I bowl eight overs so it's difficult tobring in any new spinner. Zaheer Khan has been outstanding for us in the last few games. He has picked wickets up front. Chris has been the main catalyst in quite a few wins forus but we are confident other players would also do well when it matters," he said. Manyfeel that Chennai, who have a few days rest before the final on Saturday, have an advantage over whoever wins here on Friday, but Vettori said that playing on consecutive days was not an issue.
"Back to back games is not an issue for us (if Bangalore win). The travelling is. Butplaying at the same place in two days is not a problem." Mumbai Indians coach Robin Singh said that the performance of the Mumbai team was commendable given that a few big names like Kieron Pollard hadn't done so well."Pollard has not been at his best but it is a plus that we have performed well despite it,
